Coral-Sponges-Ascidians Interactions and Reef Fish Biodiversity

As corals are affected by global warming and other anthropogenic disturbances, sponges emerge as a cryptic group that has always been behind the scenes. The goal of this project is to assess interactions between corals and sponges and extend them to potential effects that they could have on fish assemblages. This project is expected to generate pioneer knowledge about one of the most likely scenarios in marine systems in the coming years.
